October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Our family will be participating in the first ever Buddy Walk in Macon on Oct. 21st. We also participated in the Duluth walk this past weekend. These are great events with lots of fun activities for the kids, but most importantly, they're the biggest fund-raisers of the year for the Down syndrome community. We would love to have you participate with us. So far, Eli's friends & family have supported him by. raising over $3490 !!!! Thanks so, so much for everyone's love & support !!!
The Buddy Walk was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.
We're walking in the Buddy Walk to show our support for the more than 350,000 individuals with Down syndrome in the United States. We want to do our part to make sure that each individual is given every opportunity to reach their full potential.
Every step we take, every dollar we raise will help ensure that each individual with Down syndrome in the United States will be able to do just that. Last year alone, over $5 million dollars was raised nation-wide for local and national education, research and advocacy programs.
On a personal level, we want for Eli what all parents want for their children: a bright future in which he will be happy, healthy, loved and accepted. With your help, Eli and thousands of others will lead more independent and productive lives than ever before.

Won't you join us?
Your involvement in the Buddy Walk -- by walking with us or by sponsoring Eli -- will make steps for a brighter tomorrow for all individuals with Down syndrome.
Your Buddy Walk contribution will help strengthen the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta's ability to serve the individuals with Down syndrome and their families impacted by this genetic condition in our community. The funds raised from the Buddy Walk will support local programs for members as well as the national education, research and advocacy initiatives of the National Down Syndrome Society. These funds enable local programs and NDSS to offer services that support and enhance the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
