Report:

Squeezed in a one day trip between ugly weather.  Tony & Steph joined Jeremy, Daniel, & myself intending to do some grouper trolling.

Well we trolled, but the grouper didn't cooperate.  After a good 1.5 hours of trolling without a bite, we decided the kids needed some action.  Lines in, and drop some bait.  We found pinks, sea bass, & squirrel fish, but once again, the grouper were hiding.

We did manage to get a couple big bites, but they ended in a struggle with the bottom.  The third time, Jeremy hooked up and then apparently ends up fighting a snag on the bottom.  We repositioned the boat hoping to get a better angle, but we couldn't wrestle free.  In an attempt to finally, just break the line, we came free, but then realized a fish was still on, and mad to boot.  Jeremy won the battle and landed a nice 7-8 lb. red grouper.  Congrats Jeremy, the only grouper, and obviously, big fish of the day!

A fancy looking Sea Bass? Possibly a male?

Jeremy & Daniel with some colorful fish.
Jeremy - Porgy (jolthead?)
Daniel - White Grunt

A close up for color.

One for the fish ID books, Daniel w/some small fish - apparently a grass porgy.

Steph w/a pink of her own.

Steph w/ double Sea Bass

Jeremy saves the day with a nice red grouper (7-8 lbs.)
