Day One: Tom, Lori, & Daniel go for a quick trip about 12 miles out looking for a sheepshead for Daniels. Seas were 5-7 and we just couldn't anchor or hook a rig to fish. We ended up doing a drive-by with Lori at the helm and Tom trying to feel a sheepshead nibble as we roared by. Need to mention that Lori was 9 months pregnant with our soon to be 2nd son, Elijah. She toughed it out until we got one in the boat and called it a day.
Day two - Brent M. & Donny B. drove down for us to meet up with Sam and go offshore. Problem is the Martinez household ends up with a child in the ER for a horrible cold. Sam has to postpone his arrival by a day. So, with seas still rough, and rain arriving, we stay in close and fish for sheepshead, reds, and whatever else would bite. We picked up few as well as added a few more new species to the HOF (Hall of Fame).
Day three: Sam finally decides he remembers his priorities and breaks away to fish. Due to the lingering bad weather and rougher seas. We stay close still and fish for sheepshead. Knowing how fun they are to clean, we finally started releasing fish. Final count was 38 nice fish.
Daniel's first trip on the boat and our first sheepshead.
Tom's first red on the boat at the lighthouse (Mobile Bay).
